Use their Slime Cupcake kit!

If you’re looking to make some spooky creations with the kids this Halloween, then Cake Décor has just what you need! We were sent a bundle of products to try, so we decided to make a melting slime monster party cake, with matching cupcakes! To begin, we prepared our cakes. For the cupcakes, we used the Slime Cupcake Kit. We really like how the frosting, cupcake cases, and edible slime were all included with the cake mix! This little kit makes six cupcakes, and is perfect for the children to get involved as the mixing and decorating are all super simple!

We prepared cupcakes

For our larger cake, we baked two 6” round by 3” deep cakes using half the Vanilla Sponge Cake Mix. It’s incredibly easy to use as you only need to add water and mix! The sponges had a good rise and nice springy texture once baked. We filled and coated this cake in the Vanilla Frosting, then allowed to sit for a few minutes before texturing with scrunched foil for the monster’s ‘skin’.

Once we’d added the frosting and edible slime to the cupcakes, we added two Edible Eyes to each, then set aside while we continued with the cake. We really love how convenient the eyes are to work with; they’re ready to use from the pack, and instantly add character to creations!

For the cake board, we coloured a small portion of sugarpaste using some of the Cake
Décor green gel colour, then rolled into a puddle shape. After adding to the board, we brushed piping gel on exposed areas and added the Halloween Sprinkles, along with a few elements from the Crazy Faces pack. After adding the cake to the board, we drizzled over a green chocolate cake drip, then added more Edible Eyes. To add another spooky feature, we piped a few chocolate spiders using the milk chocolate Choco Writer, then allowed to set before adding to the board. To complete the cake, we formed two eyeballs from white sugarpaste and painted pupils on using the black Cake Décor gel colour mixed with a little clear alcohol.

Overall, we were really happy with the simplicity of the products from Cake Décor.
