The Belle Naive

This cake sculpture is a tribute to the millions of women in Indian villages who take their age old knowledge in their respective traditions handed down through generations and translate it to magic woven into fabrics. Since those days, the rivers of Indian fashion were infused with various styles such as block printing, dabu printing, batik printing, resist printing, tie and dye and many other fabric printing techniques that are benchmarks of Indian cultural traditions.

Anna Mathew Vadayatt,Cake Canvas – happiness in a box is a small cake boutique which I manage out of my home in Cochin, Kerala, India. A very early interest in art led into a life time of training and experimenting with various art mediums from pencil sketching to oil painting to sculpting until I stumbled on my true calling – of making life and dreams out of sweet fondant and cakes. This small venture is a natural progression of an artist’s unrelenting quest for perfection.
